If you're looking for a luxurious and restful stay in Carbis Bay, look no further than Carbis Bay Escapes. Our beautiful, pet friendly 4 bedroom house is a ten minute walk from Carbis Bay beach and 25 minutes walk from St Ives. Godrevy Lighthouse View is an Annexe to the main house that can be booked separately throughout the year. The main house can sleep 8-10 and the Annexe sleeps 2-4. They can both be booked together during peak times to accommodate groups of up to 14. The Porthkidney Suite, which is a beautiful garden room with it's own private entrance and outdoor seating area, is also available as a separate unit all year around, except when it is being rented as part of the main house. We also offer longer stays in the Annexe and Porthkidney Suite during the mid to low season so do contact us and we will find the best solution to meet your requirements.
Carbis Bay is a beautiful sheltered seaside suburb of St Ives with it's own white sands and crystal-clear calm waters that are perfect for swimmers of all ages. Winner of a Blue Flag Award and Seaside Award in 2024 it is renowned for it's water quality and safety and has lifeguards on patrol between 10am-6pm each day between 13th July to 1st September. A great spot for stand up paddle boarding or kayaking and there are watersports and beachside restaurants on site. Around the headland and a beautiful short walk on the coastal path is St Ives Porthminster Beach. Nearby surfing beaches are Porthmeor in St Ives or Gwithian Sands on the other side of St Ives Bay. There is a seasonal dog ban in place at Carbis Bay Beach in place from the 15th of May to the 30th of September, between 10am and 6pm so you can still enjoy peaceful morning dog walks or an evening walk followed by a drink in one of the beach bars. Dogs are welcome at all other times through the low and mid season. Porthkidney Beach is a lovely dog friendly beach that is around the headline in the direction of the Hayle Estuary, again a beautiful walk along the coastal path. There is a small car park next to Carbis Bay beach that is run by the Carbis Bay Estate, This is free in the low and mid season and has a fee in the peak season. The Carbis Bay Station car park and Porthrepta car park a few hundred yards away offers more spaces. The Carbis Bay Hotel has a spa with heated outdoor pool, hydropool, and sauna pod that can be enjoyed whilst enjoying amazing views of the bay. You can also enjoy drinks and snacks from the on site deli and bars, enjoy drinks and dinner at Walters on the Beach or the Beach Cafe. Up in the centre of Carbis Bay there are a range of restaurants including The Gannet Inn, The Bean Inn and La Casita as well as a number of lovely cafes and deli's. Una St Ives, is another spa in Carbis Bay and there is also The Harbour Hotel in St Ives.
St Ives is just a short walk along the coastal path from Carbis Bay, where you can soak up the white sand, turquoise waters and tropical plant life. You will first come across Porthminster Cafe and as you explore the town you will find 5 further beaches to enjoy. Parts of the Harbour Beach and Bamaluz Beach are dog friendly all year round. St Ives is also renowned for its quality of light that has drawn artists to the area including Barbara Hepworth, renowned sculptor, whose workshop and gardens you can visit, as well as The Tate St Ives, which is set against the stunning and rugged coastal scenery of Porthmeor Beach. St Ives has countless restaurants, pubs and bars and an active live music scene all year round.
